Through deeds and court cases it can be shown that Thomas, son of Samuel Kincaid, was granted 40a on Glade Creek in 1825. The land was used along with other land to secure a note due April 1742. Thomas Sr and William failed to pay the note. The land was confiscated and sold at auction. Thomas Sr was the highest bidder on the 40a lot. In 1852 Charles Fleschman, acting for the county, sells 40a on Glade Creek to Thomas Jr. for $3. The history of the land is contained in the deed. Thomas and Isabella Kincaid sell this land in 1872.
