THE ENID DAILY EAGLE, Enid, OK 4 Feb. 1969 ALVA KINGCADE Funeral services for Alva Kingcade, 84, 1104 N. Madison, who died Monday morning in a local hospital, will be at 10 A.M. Thursday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Finis O'Neal officiating Burial will follow in the Square Cedar cemetery. Kingcade was born Oct. 6,1884, in Perry County, Ill. He came to Oklahoma with his parents where he was reared and attended schools. He moved to Texas County when he was young to prove a claim. Here he met and married Lela Briggs, June 5, 1910. He spent most of his life farming in the Aline community. He later moved to Enid where he spent the remainder of his life. His wife preceded him indeath July 4, 1967. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Mr. andMrs. L. R. Kingcade, and one sister. Survivors include four daughters, LoisGreer, Marjorie Daffron and Dorothy Thompson all of Wichita, Kan., andBessie McCune, Aline; two sons Harold, Forgan, Okla., and Arthur, Enid; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter, Elkhart, Kan."

Obituary DuQuoin Tribune, IL, Nov. 29, 1907, page 4, col. 4."Earth to Earth, The funeral services of Mr. Thomas Kingcade were conducted last Friday afternoon, at 2:30 from the home of his daughter, on North Vine street. The attendance of friends and business men testified to the esteem in which the quiet, unassuming man was regarded.Mr. Kingcade's boyhood days were spent in Tennessee. At an early age he wasunited in marriage with Miss Elizabeth J. Cummings, a woman of remarkableStrength of character and sweetness of disposition. The family home wasfirst established in their native State. During the pioneer days of SouthernMissouri, they left their early home and moved to that State, but latersettled in DuQuoin, ILL., before the railroad passed through the prairietown. Mr. James Kingcade, a brother of deceased, was connected with theCompany, and the brothers were friends of Mr. Mitchell, a prominent official of the Central road.Nine children were born unto Mr. and Mrs. Kingcade. The wife died a triumphant Christian death some years ago, and the surviving childrennumber: Lee, who is a resident of Oklahoma; Mrs. Belle Wilcox, of Campbell, MO.; Abraham, Arthur and Mrs. Abigail Dew of our city.The bearers were: Messrs, Z. R. Provart, Thos. Penwarden, I. B. Maclin, Wm.Humphrey, Thos. What is known:Tennessee Tidbits, 1778 - 1914, Volume 4 pages 250-251 st ates that Kincaid,Thomas was an orphan boy about the age of twelve years when he was bound 1January 1838 to Arhtur Warren Sr. until the age of twenty-one. Archibald Stone was security. (Can Tn, Co. Ct Min, 1,251) On 2 August 1847 ArhturWarren was released from the above apprentice bond. He presented a receiptdated 29 July 1847 stating that Thomas Kincaid had arrived at full age and had received full satisfaction of the bond. (ibid B/320)
